Sacred Space Meditation

bPrepare for meditation/visualization as usual.  Close your eyes and quieten your mind until all is quiet and dark.

Through your mind’s eye, visualize a stone stairway. You climb this stairway until you reach a door at the top. Open the door… What do you see?

This area is your sacred space, and area which is your spiritual safe haven… it may be a beautiful garden, or your own private beach, a room in a little cottage or a mountain top… Let your imagination run free to create a space that is beautiful and feels safe to you.

Once you are done, sit in the middle of your area and look around you, absorb the sensations and energies you are feeling. You will then wish to say a small prayer such as:

This is my sacred space, may it protect and bless me.  Only I allow those who may enter it, may those who only enter it walk in light and love.

This is a space you may visit time and time again during meditation to meet your guides, to learn and to use as a safe haven.

You can now ask a guide to step into your sacred space. Be patient, someone will appear. Note their appearance and characteristics.

Ask them if they are your guide and if they walk in Love and Light? Ask this question 3 times and if they answer yes to this question 3 times they are your guide.

Ask them their name 3 times. Again, if they tell you their name 3 times, than this is your guide’s name.

You may then wish to ask as many questions as you want.

When you are ready, thank your guide for their presence and guidance, leave your sacred space in the doorway you entered and close down your meditation.

You may connect with your guide this way in the future. Always make sure they are your guide though by asking their name 3 times each time you meet them. As you work more with your guide you should start to feel their energies and begin to recognise them each time they are close by.

Psychic Development Part 1

bOne of the most common questions I am always asked is how do I know if I am psychic? I am a believer that we are all born psychic and as we surround ourselves with experiences and interactions within the physical plane, we loose the ability to tap into our own psychic gifts.

Some of us will never want to tap into those abilities again. However, more and more people are becoming increasingly interested and aware that there is some other force in life greater than that of just the physical.

So my answer to that question is EVERYONE is psychic, you just need to find a way to reconnect and develop your own natural abilities. The fact that you are reading this shows you have interest in this area.

If you are still unsure, go through this checklist and see if you can answer yes to any of these questions:

- I have vivid dreams where I have seen and spoken to friends and relatives who have passed away.
- I experience Déjà vu
- I have felt sensations and heard voices around me when I have been by myself
- I am very good judge of character and can usually tell what a person is like
- I have been thinking about someone just have they have phoned or the door bell has rung.
- I have a relationship with someone where we both say or do something at the same time, without having said anything before hand.
- I have just known if something good or bad has happened
- I have had knowledge and ideas just pop into my head.

If so, you have experienced your own psychic abilities at some point in your life.

So how do you develop these abilities?

DEVELOPING YOU ABILITIES

The major key to unlocking your abilities is MEDITATION, MEDITATION, MEDITATION.

MEDITATION:

WHAT IS MEDITATION?

Meditation is a way to relax your body, focus your energy and calm your mind. It is a way to quieten the mind from all physical and external noises and listen to our innerselves. It is also the most efficient way to raise our energy vibrations to connect with our spirit guides and other spiritual beings such as angels and our loved ones who have passed.

You do not need any fancy equipment to do this and you only have to take 5 minutes out of your day. However some of the following may help you:

- Relaxation music
- Incense
- A Sacred Space (to be explained further, for now just a place where you will not be disturbed shall be fine.)
- Crystals
- Pen and Paper, or a psychic journal

Here are some essential basic meditation techniques to start you off and you can practice these whilst you build up your meditation supplies:

RELAXATION:

Lie or sit comfortably, close your eyes and breathe slowly in and out through your nose. When you feel ready and your breathing is regular concentrate on your toes. Tense and tighten them and then relax them, as your toes go limp, in your head, say “relax!” Work your way up through the rest of your body, repeating the tense/relax action, until you finally reach the top of your head.

You should now feel physically relaxed. This experience may feel uncomfortable, even slightly painful if your body is not use to relaxing this way. However, the more you practice, the more natural this relaxation should feel as this is a natural state for your body to be in.

BREATHING:

Breathing correctly is essential for meditation. There are a number of methods to breathe correctly, so I am going to state the one that works well for me.

Start by breathing slow and deeply from the abdomen, you may want to visualise each breath you are breathing as pure white light energy entering your body and each exhale as releasing any negative energy attached to you.

Once you are comfortable and focused on your breathing, slowly inhale for four seconds through your mouth (counting up to 4 in your head.)Hold your breath for another 2 seconds and than exhale for four seconds through your mouth.

Repeat this for at least ten times.

QUIETING THE MIND:

With all the physical and loud noises and distractions in the world, it is hard to focus inside ourselves and truly feel peace and quiet. Only through this sort of focus can we truly concentrate on our spiritual communications with guides and our inner intuition. For example, how many times have you shut your eyes to go to sleep and suddenly fallen into a complete state on relaxation without thinking: “Did I pay that gas bill?” Or something similar.

There are a number of ways to do this and as time goes by, you will probably be able to create your own. However I will write a couple that work for me. Once you have done your relaxation and breathing exercises above try one of the following:

- Empty your mind (this will be very hard at first, but with some practice you should achieve it.) As soon as a thought enters your head, visualize it surrounded in a bubble and visualize watching it float up into the air or you can even pop it! Do this for every time something enter your head.

- Imagine you are sunbathing on the beach and the waves are lapping on the shore. Concentrate on that sound and each time a thought enters your head, it goes out to the sea on a wave.

-  Imagine a ball on pure white energy in the centre of your body, it slowly grows and grows until it has encompassed the whole of you full and peace and relaxation.

Try to keep your mind still for about 30 seconds to a minute.

Psychic Development Part 2

bWelcome back to Lesson 2 of our psychic development guide. In this section we shall be exploring some basic meditation ideas and invoking protection.

You should now be at a stage where your are relaxed and still and the mind is quietened. 

PROTECTION:

It is vitally important that you invoke protection during this time of your meditation. This is because you have opened yourself to spirit and just as you can pick up positive energies, you will also be vulnerable to negative energies.  There are two protection techniques I use whilst meditating. However, there are plenty others you can research and find in books or on the internet and I will probably extend on this at some point on the site:

(1) SAY A LITTLE PRAYER: Now you do not have to be religious for this to apply. However, you want to invoke protection from whatever you faith is. I am not particularly religious per se. However, this is the prayer I use:

“Spirit Guides and Guardian Angels come about me now. Fill me with your light and love, protect me from any negative energies and let me only have contact with spirit that walk in light and love. Help me raise my vibration energies so I have a stronger connection to you and spirit. Amen.”

You can use this prayer or adapt it to suit your beliefs or come up with your own protection prayer.

(2) GOLD & SILVER SLEEPING BAG: Close you eyes and visualise climbing into a silver sleeping bag that covers your whole body and you zip it up right over your head so that you are completely covered by it. Imagine the same with the gold bag and say to yourself: “Silver to protect, Gold to deflect.”

GROUNDING:

Grounding is a good technique to help open to spirit, it also helps with your protection and stilling the mind. I concentrate on my breathing and imagine every breath I take as pure white positive light, this light journeys downwards through my body and through my feet, connecting with the floor and journeying all the way through to the centre of the earth’s core.

MEDITATION:

We are there you finally get to meditate now! Make sure you have followed all the stages outlined above when you get to this stage, so you are fully relaxed and still and well protected.

It will suit you well to begin your meditation by focusing on an object, colour or object (either physically or visually in your mind, such as a herb, candle or crystal) until you are unaware of external thoughts and other stimuli. You may want to then close your eyes and see where your meditation takes you.

You may hear noises feel or smell sensations. When you first meditate, you will probably see images, shapes and colours. These should appear in your third eye. This is the place above your nose, between the eyes. If you are finding it hard to receive anything, imagine a TV set in this spot between your eyes, imagine turning it on and it being all fuzzy. Concentrate on tuning it in until you receive something.

When you are returning to the external world again, do not fight it, accept it and gradually become fully aware of all that is around you. Thank your guides for what they have shown you and ground yourself to close down from spirit.  Make sure you have your journal on you to record all you have been shown.

WHAT TO DO NEXT:

Practice these techniques until you are receiving communications via meditation. It may take a while, so be patient and have faith in yourself. Start small by focusing for a colour  or just a basic symbol and see what you get.

Spirit Guides


bWe all have spirit guides that walk with us along our spiritual path. There is great discussion as to how many guides we each have but a popular belief is we each have a main spirit guide and then several other guides and helpers who assist us through life.

Our main spirit guide is the one who we connected with as children and who may visit us in dreams. We may already be familiar with this guide. However, for those who are just starting their spiritual awareness and development, there are ways for us to connect with our guides if we feel as though we have never met them before.

Our Spirit Guides are there to help with our spiritual development, to support us through our physical difficulties and tribulations, to protect us from negative energies and help with healing, divination, channelling etc.

Our main guide is usually referred to as our doorkeeper as they stand in the gateway between our psychic state and spiritual state and this is the guide who will protect and teach us.

Our main guide works at a higher vibrational energy and usually a helper will work with us first to help raise our vibrations through meditation and charka work to help raise our vibrations so that we can gain a strong connection with our guides on a higher vibrational level.

Once you are able to connect with your guide, a close teaching and guiding bond shall grow between you for a life time, with other guides and helpers joining you on your spiritual journey at certain points in your life to help with certain aspects.
